Social Development Department Minister Sisisi Tolashe has pledged her aid and commitment to improving South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) products and services during an engagement while using the company's senior administrators in a strategic scheduling session in Cape Town.
Tolashe on Tuesday expressed her heartfelt congratulations to the various social grant beneficiaries, who excelled in the 2024 matric final exams.
Of the 724 156 full-time learners who registered for the National Senior Certification (NSC), 572 338 are social grant beneficiaries, symbolizing 81% in the registered pupils while in the education and learning sector.
These learners reached a commendable pass rate of 86%.
"This indicates the investment national government is generating inside the lives of poor and susceptible little ones is yielding a constructive influence in breaking intergenerational poverty," Tolashe stated.
